Well, I got about 4 hours sleep last night. I'm not sure if it was because I slept most of the day yesterday or because of the really loud house music that was playing until 3am. Or a combination of both. I found a nice cafe for some poached eggs on toast and then headed to the dive resort where I found out I was the only one doing the Try Dive today, so I pretty much got one on one tuition which was great. My instructor was Erik from Sweden who was really nice and very patient with me.
I did two dives, around 50 minutes each one. I have to say, I was more terrified 15m underwater than I was driving a scooter on the potholed roads of ko lanta! Especially at the start when it was all new, and I was getting used to the breathing. It's so hard not to panic, and as soon as you do, breathing becomes really difficult and you just want to swim to the surface. I was inhaling on that mouthpiece like i was pregnant and it was gas and air! I'm glad I did it though. I saw some really cool marine life, although it's hard to focus on it and appreciate it when you're concentrating on not drowning. I enjoyed it, but I don't think I'll be rushing to do it again and get certified.
Tonight I went to Sairee Cottage for dinner, which is known for its BBQ food. I had chicken skewers and a baked potato. To top the night off I went to Queens Cabaret to watch the ladyboys show. It was full of nipple tassels and terrible lip syncing, but I bloody loved it and I was envious of every one of their bodies. To be fair though, their faces were quite clearly male, you'd have to be sozzled to think otherwise.
